“Race and Respect Among Young Children.”

The thing I found most important about “Race and Respect among Young Children” is there is still a lot of racism amongst us in school today. One thing I found very important in this story is how the teacher told Matt to apologize for calling Angela a “Brownski”. This is Important to me because if the teacher wouldn’t have told Matt to apologize to Angela the situation would have more than likely to get worst as the day or school year went along. Another thing I found important is when they said Young people are not born “colorblind”. Instead, they have an unstated but nonetheless sophisticated understanding of issues of race and power. The reason why I think this is important is because children should not care what color someone’s skin color  they should just stay in a kids spot and just go outside and play with other kids it doesn’t matter  what skin color another person is. One thing I found interesting is that these kids were only in kindergarten, when I was in kindergarten I didn’t care much for people’s skin color I just seen them as people not as I different race.
